What Is Classic Car Restoration?

Classic restoration at our shop is the body and paint side of bringing an older vehicle back: stripping failed paint, cutting out rust and welding in solid metal, working panels straight, block sanding filler and primer until the surfaces are true, and spraying fresh base coat and clear coat. Older cars carry decades of previous repairs, so part of the job is finding what a past shop buried under filler and correcting it. We can restore to the original color code or paint the color you actually want.

Why Is Classic Car Restoration Important?

On an old car the difference between a paint job and a restoration is the metal work underneath. Paint sprayed over rust or thick filler looks good for a season and then bubbles. Cutting rust out completely and getting the panels straight before primer is what makes the finish last, and it's what separates a car that wins attention from one that reads as a quick flip.

When Should You Consider Classic Car Restoration?

Bring the project in when you're ready for body and paint, ideally before buying materials, so we can assess how much rust and previous repair we're dealing with. Florida cars rust from the coastal air even without winter salt, so rocker panels, wheel arches, and window channels deserve a close look on anything more than a couple decades old.
